Fried Potato Wedges

Fried Potato wedges are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that can complement a variety of meals, from burgers and sandwiches to grilled meats and salads. They are simple to prepare, requiring just a few basic ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Medium-sized Potatoes
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • Cornflour
  • 1 Teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon oregano
  • ¾ Teaspoon Salt
  • ½ Teaspoon Pepper
  • OIL

Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 PAN
  • 1 Spatula

Method
 

  1. First, wash the potatoes to remove all dirt. Cut each potato into 2 parts. Then cut each part in 4 to 5 wedges.
  2. Bring water a give it a boil. Add the wedges and boil them for 3 minutes adding a little salt to the water (the potatoes will be cooked half not full). Drain the water and keep the potatoes aside. Cool completely.
  3. Take a mixing bowl. Now add flour, oregano, pepper, and salt. Add water and mix them with the help of a whisker.
  4. Take a pan and heat the oil on medium heat. When the oil is medium hot Add the wedges in the crust batter coat them properly. Now drop the potato wedges one after another and stir them occasionally until they become lightly golden.
  5. Now remove the crispy wedges and serve with your favourite dip.

Notes

  • The herbs, seasonings and spices can be adjusted as per your taste.
  • For garnish, opt to sprinkle some fresh herbs
  • While deep-frying, fry at medium to medium-high heat. Do not fry at a lower temperature. This would cause the potatoes to absorb a lot of oil.
  • Don't fry them at a very high heat. The potatoes would brown quickly from the outside and the insides will be undercooked or raw.
